Senior Product Designer, Financial Operations
NuORDER
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋
Actively looking for a new opportunity to work on a team focusing on projects with real business impact? Do you thrive in environments where you can help raise the bar for quality, drive collaboration, and mentor others to reach their full potential? If so, you might be in the right place!
Lightspeed is looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Financial Operations team. This team designs powerful tools that give our internal Sales, Operations, Customer Support, Risk, and Onboarding Consultants a complete picture of our merchants—to help ensure that our merchants are set up with the best solutions to fit their business needs quickly and efficiently. In this role, you'll help define a vision through iterative design and delivery.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of transforming complex workflows into simple, clear customer journeys with user-friendly interfaces that seamlessly integrate with other workflows. You excel at identifying opportunities to deliver value and thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers and product managers to create exceptional customer experiences.
What you’ll be doing:
- Problem Solving: Lead project work from a design perspective with autonomy and authority, facilitating design reviews and working sessions to help the teams deliver the best possible solutions. Turn nebulous concepts into specific ideas that are useful and delightful product features. Explores and integrates AI and emerging technologies to shape new approaches.
- Embedding Systems Thinking: Have UX expertise and deep understanding of design systems, UI design, and how micro-interactions can help users complete a task. Design holistic systems, flows and interfaces that are simple, elegant, user-friendly, and utilize deterministic automation and AI to streamline operations—capable of performing simple tasks autonomously, and as a partner in human-driven workflows when the tasks and decisions get more complex. Understand how to use the current design system best to ensure consistency across platforms and contribute to its continuous improvement.
- Driving User-Centricity: Draw insights from research and data, and know how to turn those insights into tangible solutions. Build relationships and advocate for the user when collaborating with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, and marketing.
- Collaboration: Be a positive role model and culture carrier within the studio as well as an advocate for design within the Lightspeed organization.
What you need to bring:
- At least 5 years of practical, in-house product, UX/UI design experience.
- Excellent communication skills. You can bring internal stakeholders on your design journey and explain work with focus and brevity.
- Strong aesthetic skills to help elevate the visual identity of our brands.
- Skilled in service design practices.
- A curiosity to continuously evolve your design process by leveraging AI tools to deliver better, more user-centered products.
- Applied experience working across all digital and physical manifestations of what we design - from the responsive web to native applications to the next technological leap.
- An acute level of self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals.
- A deep curiosity and ability to consider product strategy and vision. You don’t just care about “how it looks,” or “what we should design,” but “why are we designing this at all?”
- An arsenal of design tools such as Figma, Google Suite, JIRA, and other prototyping tools like Lovable and Cursor
