The Capital Markets team within Treasury-Finance supports Stripe’s mission by creating and leveraging efficient access to capital and financial markets. We source capital by developing and then executing the strategy for corporate and product-related financing transactions; we also manage global liquidity investments and mitigate interest rate and foreign exchange (FX) risk by developing and implementing risk-management strategies.
What you'll do
We’re looking for a creative, smart, and driven individual to join our Corporate Capital Markets team. You will lead core financing activities of the team, help develop Stripe’s capital structure and capital allocation strategy, and deliver valuable insights from market analysis. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across Treasury Finance, Investor Relations, Finance & Strategy, Accounting, Legal, Product, Data Science and beyond to execute on large projects.
You will
- Lead debt capital market transactions from start to finish, including structuring, negotiation, documentation, and execution
- Provide analysis and ideas to optimize Stripe’s capital structure and capital allocation
- Build and foster strong relationships with lenders, investment bankers, rating agencies and legal advisors
- Oversee financial models to drive capital structure and capital allocation decisions
- Manage stakeholder engagement activities, including lender meetings, calls, and events
- Monitor and report on capital markets, macroeconomic and industry trends
- Drive cross-functional projects in partnership with product, engineering, finance and/or legal teams
- Support as needed other Capital Markets projects and initiatives
Who You Are
You must meet the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- 7+ years of DCM, leveraged finance, investment banking, or other relevant capital raising experience
- Detailed understanding of the debt raising processes, credit agreements, capital structures, and financial covenants
- Familiarity with rating agency metrics, rating process and considerations
- A proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners, investors, and executives, including board members
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to leverage data insights into a dynamic narrative
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail
- Capacity to learn quickly and perform in an unstructured environment with a willingness to question assumptions and conventional wisdom
- High intellect and energy (exothermic), entrepreneurial, self-motivated, resourceful and strong work ethic
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge or experience with broader fixed income markets, including FX, interest rate derivatives, cash investments
- Interest in the payments sector
- Experience with SQL or Python
The annual US base salary range for this role is $193,100 - $289,700. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
