Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies-from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups-use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the Adaptive Pricing team
Stripe is building a global payments and treasury network, and the Adaptive Pricing team sits at the heart of Global Selling-focused on helping businesses optimize how they sell across borders. One of the hardest problems in global commerce is pricing. Businesses must navigate different currencies, foreign exchange dynamics, setting proper price points, aligning prices with local standards, and unlocking local payment methods-all while maintaining a seamless buyer experience. Getting this wrong means lost revenue, abandoned carts, and failed payments. To solve this, we built Adaptive Pricing-one of the fastest growing products ever launched at Stripe. Adaptive Pricing automatically presents customers with localized prices in their currency, handles all FX conversion behind the scenes, and unlocks local payment methods across 150+ countries-all with zero integration effort from the business. The result: businesses see an average of 17.8% higher revenue, significantly higher conversion, and improved authorization rates. Adaptive Pricing is already used by over 500,000 businesses globally, processes payments in 150+ countries, and has processed billions in cross-border volume. And we're just getting started-there is an enormous amount of surface area still to build across subscriptions, full-funnel localization, new payment methods, and intelligent pricing strategies.
The team is scrappy, moves fast, and punches well above its weight.
What you'll do
You will own the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for Adaptive Pricing Growth. You'll be responsible for making Adaptive Pricing the obvious, default choice for every business selling across borders-expanding its capabilities, deepening its intelligence, and scaling its adoption. You will work at the intersection of complex money movement, foreign exchange, machine learning, and developer experience. You will need to go extremely deep to understand the full complexity of global pricing-from FX risk and regulatory compliance to consumer psychology and local payment ecosystems-and translate that into elegant, simple product experiences.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product strategy for Adaptive Pricing Growth
- Deeply understand the problem space-currencies, FX, local payment methods, regional regulations, consumer behavior-and use that knowledge to drive high-conviction product decisions.
- Set an ambitious roadmap and drive execution with a scrappy, high-velocity team across Engineering, Design, Data Science, and GTM.
- Be the best seller and marketer for the product-work closely with Sales and GTM to drive adoption, handle objections, create pitch materials, and close strategic accounts.
- Use data rigorously to identify opportunities, measure impact, and prioritize ruthlessly. Analyze conversion funnels, authorization rates, revenue lift, and retention metrics to drive the roadmap.
- Break down complex systems into functional pieces-decompose the end-to-end pricing problem into tractable product surfaces and ship them incrementally.
- Champion the merchant and consumer experience-obsess over making the product beautiful, simple, and delightful despite the underlying complexity.
- Collaborate deeply with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Design, Data Science, Sales, Account Management, Marketing, Risk, and Treasury.
- Discover new parts of the business (new surfaces, new geographies, new segments) and lead them from nascent stages to maturity.
Who you are
You are a deeply technical, scrappy, data-driven PM who obsesses over solving problems end to end. You don't stop at the surface, you go deep to understand every layer of complexity and use that understanding to build products that are both powerful and elegant. You care about craft and beauty in everything you ship, even when the underlying systems are fiendishly complex. You are AI native, you thoughtfully apply AI across your own work and think deeply about how AI can make our products smarter and more powerful. You act like a developer: you can read code, think in systems, and engage credibly with engineers on architecture and tradeoffs. You display extreme ownership. You treat the product as your business-caring deeply about its success, its users, and its growth. You are the kind of person who will get on a call with a merchant to understand their pain, write a SQL query to validate a hypothesis, and mock up a solution in the same afternoon. We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- 6+ years of experience in product management or engineering.
- Deeply technical-can think and act like a developer. Comfortable reading code, engaging on architecture decisions, and understanding complex distributed systems.
- Scrappy and high-ownership-treats the product as their own business, does whatever it takes to make it succeed.
- Data-driven-can write SQL, build dashboards, analyze funnels, and use data to make decisions and set priorities.
- User-obsessed-spends time with users, synthesizes feedback, and translates insights into product direction.
- Cares about craft and beauty-holds a high bar for product quality, design, and user experience even in technically complex domains.
- Obsesses over solving the problem end to end-not satisfied with partial solutions or leaving loose ends.
- Willing to go extremely deep to understand all the complexities of the product, the domain, and the competitive landscape.
- Experience working with Sales and GTM teams-can act as the best seller and marketer for the product, tell a compelling story, and drive adoption.
- AI native-thoughtfully applies AI across their own work and our products to ship faster and build smarter.
- Able to break down complex problems and systems into functional, shippable pieces.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for precise articulations of customer problems.
- Has the ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with complex money movement, regulated spaces, or foreign exchange.
- Experience building products that operate across multiple currencies, countries, or regulatory environments.
- Experience building brand new products or working in a startup-like environment within a larger company.
- Experience with pricing strategy, marketplace dynamics, or fintech infrastructure.
- Conducting product market research and building buy-in for product ideas from internal stakeholders and leadership.
- Experience working with machine learning teams to build intelligent, data-driven product features.
